after the highly anticipated release of his third studio album decay, efdemin presents the first part of a remix series featuring his favourite producers. bristols underground hero asusu inflates the reduced album opener some kind of up and down yes with deepest bass and beautiful scapes to the max in a true photek-style. last years control by staffan linzatti was one of the favourite constants to be played in every efdemin or lawrence set. luckily his version of solaris is another epic hymn here with futuristic enhancements of the third kind.the most extraordinary piece on decay versions part 1 is the borderland states rework of parallaxis. efdemins studio-mate john gürtler recorded that beauty with adding acoustic instruments only and sounds like a meeting of moondog with wim mertens.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

at the end of 2013, boston bun released his second ep, *flasher*, on ed banger. the three tracks were hypnotic and tailored for clubs. they were played on the radio (bbc1, le mouv, france inter) and also by the best djs on the electro scene (2manydjs, skream, duke dumont, erol alkan, surkin, boys noize, daniel avery…). boston buns new ep, *we got soul*, is a great step. vocals are more important than ever, it is club music with soul! *we got soul* features bear who? nice price deal !!! xenogears is the name of the first studio project of marieu and lucretio, also known as the analogue cops. with this moniker they released a bunch of seminal techno cuts on the first chapters of their restoration imprint, back in 2007. tracks which were played by legends as anthony shakir, claude young and the suburban knight. now the xenogears are back with their first album *lost artemis*, showcasing their distinctive fast, detroit-inspired hardware techno. the album features a collaboration with their usual collaborator nomadronin (with whom they run the label bratha) and with the talented producer known as objekt. all the tracks are characterized by a strong fascination for hi-tech synthesizers and rusted vintage gears, a fast pace, and a minimal approach to live mixing. they have explored the subterranean territories between post-atomic noises and apocalyptic breakbeats, finding a way to equate machines with funkiness in an open battlefield.
